Minutes from Tuesday February 2, 2021 ARES meeting:

Pledge of Allegiance was done
Net Controls were decided for the month
Silver Creek is approved for remainder of year. First Tuesdays will
be ARES meeting and Fourth Tuesday will be training/building
Everyone was reminded that ARES drills are 3rd Tuesday at 7:00pm
ARES has option to run a booth for Joplin Memorial Run, pending
ARES main frequencies are 444.625 and 145.350
NWS Skywarn training is pending response from NWS
ARES will prepare to do beginners Skywarn weather awareness
training (beginners level) to local communities
ARES Skywarn Weather Net will now include the Fordland repeater.
ARES Plan and FEMA classes were discussed per ARRL.
Some goals were discussed for 2021:
More knowledge of Weather Ready Nation
Train the community on weather nation readiness
Work on having quick mobile communications equipment
Cross training with Mutual partners-Salvation Army and Civil Air
Patrol
Work on radio projects, builds and setups at local parks
Potential ideas for training:
Bring in unfinished antennas, learn soldiering techniques
Update programming in radios
How to build a bug out bag/ quick radio bag
Spotter requirements
Projects still in Progress:
Working on meetings with Civil Air Patrol
Working on First Aid and CPR courses
Updating ARES flyer for distribution
Distribution of ARES Emergency Communicator Individual Task
